Product Description

he Beckman Airfuge centrifuge is a compact ultracentrifuge that is versatile and convenient benchtop unit. A variety of rotors (not included, but may be available from stock or new at extra cost) make the Airfuge ideal for applications such as receptor-binding studies, lipoprotein assays, chylomicron studies, sample preparation for electron microscopy, and clarification of lipemic samples. The Airfuge is air turbine-driven and delivers results in a fraction of the time of larger units. The combination of high g-force and short path length results in remarkably short run times to produce results. Runs can be timed from 0 to 300 minutes in 5 minute increments; a HOLD button can be used for longer runs. The speed is air-pressure regulated and braking is first achieved by coasting, then friction braking by engagement of the brake pin. The rotor operates at a temperature a few degrees above ambient.
Maximum Speed: 110,000 rpm +/-5,000 rpm. Maximum Force: 199,000g. Air Pressure: 30 psig (210 kPa). Acceleration Time: 30-60 sec. Deceleration Time: 2.5-5.5 min.
