Product Description Thermo Scientific Hybaid MultiBlock Satellite (MBS) Thermal Cycler System is a sophisticated thermal cycling system that can be expanded as laboratory needs grow. Key Features: Offers the ability to network satellite reaction blocks with a computer; Each system can be customized, using any combination of satellite blocks from five available formats (not included - new from manufacturer); A computer controls each satellite block independently and stores an unlimited number of programs, making the system suitable for multiple users; The system can be expanded by the addition of one or many satellite blocks, up to 30 total.
Software Features: A large, easy-to-use interface displays information about all of the satellite blocks in graphical and tabular formats, allowing users to see immediately which blocks are running which programs; Personal directories and file storage offer convenient program storage for multiple users.
Satellite Block Features: The non-gradient block on this unit is 0.2ml x 96 well. Satellite blocks can be positioned next to each other or across the laboratory, providing the freedom to design a system that maximizes the available space. Adjustable heated lids provide oil-free operation with all styles of PCR tubes and plates. The lid pressure can be altered with the turn of a dial to ensure a firm seal on both polycarbonate and polypropylene plates. Satellite blocks will continue an existing run if the software or computer (not included) is turned off, preventing sample loss. Four control modes provide accurate temperature control: Active Tube Control measures the actual temperature of the reaction mix using a tube thermistor and enables the unit to actively compensate for differences between the programmed temperature and the actual temperature.
Simulated Tube and Simulated Plate Control achieve temperature accuracy similar to Active Tube Control for tube and 96-well plate formats, respectively, by constantly calculating the sample temperature and adjusting the block temperature as necessary. Block Control monitors the actual block temperature.
